Miles and miles away from the noise and dust of the city, Kidepo Valley National Park is a completely different world. Big skies, vast plains, inspiring views from every vantage point.and wildlife everywhere you look. Kidepo offers breathtaking open savannah which is surrounded by spectacular mountain landscape nowhere to be seen in Africa!
The park is home to elephant, zebra, giraffe, huge herds of buffalo, warthog, duiker, hartebeest, lion, leopard, cheetah and hundreds of bird species. A game drive around Narus valley offers visitors chance to see the highest concentration of Buffalo, and Elephants. Other animals that may be seen roaming around include: Jackal, Zebra, Roan Antelope, waterbuck, warthogs, Jackson's Hartebeest, Eland, Oribi, Cheetah, Leopard, Klipspringer, Lion etc.
The park boosts of being the highest concentration of birds endemic to Uganda like: Ostrich, Kori bustard, vultures, pygmy falcon, hornbills, eagles etc.
One more interesting thing about Kidepo is the cultural experiencethat will bring into contact with Karamojong peoples at Karenga and Kapedo. Meet the local elders and have an opportunity to interact with them. They will show you the kraals, the grinding stones and many more interesting items. For adventurers, Kidepo is the point where you can visit the IK people who live on top of Mt .Morungole towards the Kenya border via Kawalakol village. A day hike to meet an interact with the IK is amazing and incredible!
Kidepo is good for bird watching. The park boosts of being the habitat of the highest concentration of birds endemic to Uganda. Birds to expect include: Ostrich, Kori bustard, vultures, pygmy falcon, hornbills, eagles,the Abyssinian Roller, Purple Heron and the Ground Hornbill.... etc.
This wonderful park is now home to Uganda's upper level accommodation safari lodge, Apoka. Ngamoru camp is a mid range property engulfed in a mountaineers terrain.Traditional Bandas are also available for budget travelers but they should bring in their own foods and drinks to be planned by your Tour operator during your stay at the park

Day 1: Kampala-Soroti
You will be picked by our driver/guide at your hotel or residence in Kampala after your breakfast. Make first stopover at the source of the Nile in Jinja,Lunch break is in Mbale town at Protea Hotel or any famous restaurant. The journey continues to Kumi town where you will have a chance to visit Nyero rock paintings; the oldest Stone Age site in Africa which dates back to Stone Age era.Accomodation is at Akello Hotel in Soroti or Eneku Village
Alternatively clients who love to see the famous Sipi falls can spend a night at Sipi River Lodge,Protea Hotel or Sipi Campsite before proceeding to Kidepo the next day via Nakapiripirit-Moroto-Kotido-Kaabong-Kidepo
Kidepo valley national park- Game drive.
After breakfast we will continue our journey the most magnificent and Africa’s finest wildernesses through the remote villages Karamojongs homesteads and finally into the valleys of Kidepo national park and was rated highly by the CNN Travel as the as one of the 10 best parks for its spectacular landscapes and great buffalo herds.With sprawling savannah and soaring mountains, Kidepo National Park might be the most picturesque park in Africa.
This evening you can either take a game drive around the lodge area or perhaps recover from your drive with a refreshing dip in stunning swimming pool curved out of a granite kopje the pool affords fantastic views down the Narus valley and over a waterhole frequented by many animals.

Day 3: Kidepo valley national park-Game drive to hot springs and nature walk.
Depart in the morning after break and carry with you packed lunch for game drive to the hot springs via the palm trees lined Kidepo River, in search for Ostriches and leopards, tortoises along the way. After your packed lunch from the floor of Kidepo River amidst palm trees,we will stench our legs on guided nature walk through the park and return to hotel refresh yourselves, relax and have time to enjoy the wildernesses night overstay and meals at Apoka Safari Lodge or Ngamoru camp or Apoka Bandas (Full Board)
Day 4:Kidepo-Cultural day
In the morning after your breakfast,spend time to have a cultural experience that will bring into contact with Karamojong people at Karenga and Kapedo. Meet the local elders and have an opportunity to interact with them. They will show you the kraals, the grinding stones and many more interesting items. For revelers who want to have lunch with the locals, this is the day you will taste the head of a goat traditionally cooked or visit the IK people who stay on top of mount morungole. The day is crowned by a goat roast, yummy boiled offals wolfed down before a bonfire and washed down with pints of beer, tea and wine.Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight. Overnight at Apoka Safari Lodge or Ngamoru camp or Apoka Bandas (Full Board)
Day 5: Kidepo-Kampala
Return to Kampala arriving late in the evening. There are four possible routes by road:
- Kidepo-Soroti-Mbale-Kampala (792km)
- Kidepo-Kaboong-Kotido-Sironko-Mbale-Kampala (740km)
- Kidepo-Kotido-Lira-Karuma-Kampala(705 km)
